Xbox Game Releases – September 5-11

Next week, 14 new games are coming to Xbox, including NBA 2K23, the action role-playing game Steelrising, the Pokemon-inspired creature collecting MMO Temtem, and Train Sim World 3.

This week’s release of big-name games has been quieter compared to the past two weeks, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some fun games coming out! Perhaps the most notable are NBA 2K23 and the new action RPG Steelrising, both launching on September 8. But before that, we also have creature-collecting adventure game Temtem, Disney Optics Valley, and Train Sim World 3 on September 6th. Train Sim World 3 and Disney Dreamlight Valley also joined Xbox Game Pass on day one.

From this page, you can view a list of published game achievements, subscribe to the game for news updates, add it to your wishlist, and even click into the Microsoft Store to pre-order or buy. Here’s a breakdown of everything coming to the world of Xbox next week. Let us know which ones you plan to pick in the comments!

Game Type DX — Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One

Help Hoodie Girl fight the evil MediaBall’s stupid ads! It’s a high score shooter that increases speed and difficulty with each loop!
A two-part game: first, brave your way through bewildering menu mazes, then take to the skies as the tireless “hoodie girl” blasting sentient ads for cold cash!

==== Wait, what is this? ====
OK, so the actual shooter looks like this:
This is an infinite loop high score game with multiple game modes.
This is no ordinary shooter, the level structure is not like Ikaruga or Dodonpachi or most shmups.
Each of the 3 game modes has *one level*, but it keeps changing with each cycle.
The crazy part is that every time you pass a level, *game speed* increases. Loop 5 becomes very challenging and loop 8 becomes very difficult.

To help, there is a prop called “Time Pulse” which is available in limited quantities. It temporarily slows down time, and if you shoot enemy bullets during this time, you’ll turn them into cash. For every so many bullets destroyed, you get a new time pulse! It’s good to get you out of trouble, but it’s going to be tough for men later.
Once you understand the flow of the loop, you’ll know when is the best time to take your time pulse, and you’ll start to figure out ways to lock them up, earn more, and go further.

The “Surprise” game mode is like a “rogue-like” where the level layout changes every time you play the game. This mode also has a lot of props available, making it exciting to keep trying it out.
