Intel Core i9-13900 non-K and 65W TDP optimized Raptor Lake CPU benchmarks leaked, clock speeds up to 5.6 GHz

A new day and new Intel Raptor Lake CPU benchmarks have leaked, this time for a non-K Core i9-13900 with 24 cores and 32 threads.

discoverer bench, the Intel Core i9-13900 is a non-K variant optimized for a base TDP of only 65W, while the unlocked chip will have a base TDP of 125W (PL1). Max turbo power will obviously be rated higher around 200W, but it won’t be as crazy as the 250W+ limit the 13900K has to offer.

As for the core configuration, the Intel Core i9-13900 Raptor Lake CPU will have the same 24 cores and 32 threads as the Core i9-13900K, with a total cache of 68 MB. The only difference is the aforementioned power limit, which is slightly lower for non-K chips and clock speeds, which are also rated at 2.0 GHz base clock and up to 5.6 GHz max boost clock. The 13900K has a base clock of 3.0 GHz and a boost clock of 5.8 GHz. The all-core clock management of the Non-K chips will also be a bit conservative, so multi-core performance won’t be as much of a boost as unlocked SKUs.

So, in the benchmarks, the Intel Core i9-13900 Non-K Raptor Lake CPU scored 2130 points in Geekbench 5 single-core and 20131 points in the multi-core benchmark. By comparison, the single-core score is 10% faster than the Core i9-12900K and 26% faster than the Ryzen 9 5950X. The multi-core score, while not as important as the 13900K, is still in the multi-digit range, a 17% improvement over the Core i9-12900K and a 22% improvement over the Ryzen 9 5950X.

Compared to the Core i9-13900K, the Intel Core i9-13900 Non-K Raptor Lake CPU has 24% lower multi-threaded performance and 8% lower single-core performance. That’s pretty good, but it shows that the high multi-threading capabilities of Raptor Lake CPUs rely heavily on power. The TDP and power saving environment will really hurt the multi-core output of the corresponding 13th Gen chips.

Intel’s 13th Gen Raptor Lake desktop CPUs, including the flagship Core i9-13900K, are expected to launch on the Z790 platform in October. These CPUs will rival AMD’s Ryzen 7000 CPU lineup, which is also due to launch in fall 2022. The initial Raptor Lake SKUs will only include K-series chips with non-K CPUs and are expected to launch shortly after mainstream motherboards.
